There are still a scant two ballots to be counted in the West Wildwood municipal recall election that was held on Tuesday night. Unofficial vote totals show that commissioners Herbert Frederick and Gerald McNamara have apparently fended off a recall effort and will keep their seats in office. McNamara turned back the recall effort by three votes, while Frederick defeated the recall by seven votes. Nearly 75 percent of the registered voters turned out for the election; 118 mail in ballots were counted as part of the election.
