Two men were arrested and charged with aggravated assault after they allegedly shot an 18-year-old man in the chest on Juniper Avenue on Monday. Police found Keith Schippnick, of Phoenixville, Pa., lying on the sidewalk of the 300 block of East Juniper Avenue at about 4 a.m. with a single gunshot wound to the chest. After a search of the immediate area, Wildwood Police arrested Wayne Roberts, 21, of Camden, and Alexander Camillo, 20, of Philadelphia. Both men were charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a handgun without a permit and hindering apprehension.
They were lodged in the Cape May County jail in lieu of $325,000 bail for Camillo and $250,000 for Roberts. The victim survived the shooting and is hospitalized in Atlantic City.
