Monday was the opening round of the high school baseball playoffs and two Cape May County teams advanced to the next round. Ocean City, the top seed in Group III beat Absegami 13-5, while Wildwood, the third seed in Group I, defeated Maple Shade 3-1. Lower Cape May, Middle Township and Cape May Tech all suffered losses in the first round.
