A two vehicle accident took place when one crossed over the yellow line. Egg Harbor Township Police say that a 1998 Acura Integra operated by June Bancroft, 81 years of age of Egg Harbor Township, was proceeding north on Spruce Avenue when she failed to maintain her lane of travel for an unknown reason and crossed into oncoming traffic. Bancroft’s vehicle drove head on into a 2003 Mitsubishi truck operated by Donald Kelly, 44 years of age of Linwood, who was traveling east on Spruce Avenue.
Kelly was treated at the scene by the Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad and refused transport to the hospital. Bancroft was treated at the scene and transported to Shore Medical Center for injuries.
Traffic was detoured for approximately an hour while the scene was being investigated and cleared.
