On Saturday two corrections officers were killed when their motorcycles were struck by a car. The two men were killed around 7:50 p.m. on Saturday on Route 40 in Carney’s Point, when a car struck them while trying to cross the highway. Derrick Sulton, 42, of Bridgeton and George Jackson II, 31, of Pittsgrove Township, were riding with three other motorcyclists and wer pronounced dead at the scene. The car was driven by 21 year-old Jehu Santiago of Penns Grove, who was allegedly driving without a license. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
