A pair of people have been taken into custody for shoplifting. Egg Harbor Township Police were investigating an incident at the Boscov’s in the township. Arrested were Shawn Higgins, 50 years of age from Atlantic City, and Brittany Somers, 28 years of age from Ocean City. Higgins was charged with 2 counts of shoplifting and was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on narcotics charges out of the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department. Somers was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic needle, possession of marijuana under 50 grams and conspiracy to commit shoplifting. Somers was released on a summons with a date to appear in court.
