The Press of Atlantic City reports that two of the resort’s casinos actually turned a profit for the third quarter of this year. The new Golden Nugget Casino made a net profit of $700,000 for the quarter, while the Tropicana Casino’s gross profits were up by 17 percent. According to the report, the 18 new electronic slots and blackjack machines placed in The Quarter, shopping and restaurant district, were performing “very well”. The Golden Nugget plans to complete major improvements to it’s property this January.
