TURNPIKE AUTHORITY APPROVES BUDGET, CUTS TO JOBS

A new budget agreement by the New Jersey Turnpike Authority will remove 67 positions from the payroll. The $485.3 million budget shows an increase of just under one percent. Those jobs will be cut first by attrition, but will include layoffs if need be. The increase in the budget is attributed to increase costs from the State Police, as well as pension and benefit increases.
