Toll collectors will keep their jobs, but only with a two year promise. Concessions have been agreed to which will reduce the average pay of a toll collector 25 percent over the two-year period.. This decision allows the union workers to keep their job, but the state says it is planning to move to an electronic system which would eliminate the need for toll collectors by that time. Union leaders are happy to keep its workers employed for two more years and provide them time to seek new employment.
