The microburst storm of Tuesday afternoon caused widespread damage across Cape May County, but it was not enough to generate aid from the state for Lower Township. So far a total of 49 residences reported damage to their homes in Lower Township, while the minimum threshold for aid is 250 homes and businesses with major damage. No damage to township infrastructure was reported in Middle or Lower Townships and there were no injuries or deaths from the storms.
