As of Friday morning, Tropical Storm Karen was less than 300 miles from the mouth of the Mississippi River and heading north-northwest at 10 mph. The National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane watch for the Gulf Coast from Grand Isle, Louisiana, to west of Destin, Florida. The center of the storm is forecast to be near the coastline by Saturday. Rain from the system could affect South Jersey next week, depending on the track of the storm.
