TOWNSEND’S INLET BRIDGE TO CLOSE ON MONDAY

The bridge that connects Avalon to Sea Isle City is closed Monday through at least sometime in April.  The county of Cape May is closing the Townsend’s Inlet Bridge to vehicular traffic due to a major construction effort on the bridge.  Machinery and racks are being replaced on the bridge; they help raise and lower the span.  Bridge locks are also being replaced. The main contractor is Musgrove Construction.
