TOWNS MAY SOON HAVE TO DISCLOSE SPENDING ONLINE

Your hometown may soon have to put all of its spending online. The New Jersey Senate approved a measure Thursday that would force the state, county, and local governments to develop searchable websites where their spending practices would be posted in full detail. Four senators voted against the bills, and two of those four senators are mayors of municipalities. They believe that this measure puts another unfunded mandate on local communities.
