It was another year of growth for tourism in Cape May County. The county held its annual tourism conference and reported the 18th straight year of growth. The county generated $5.2 billion in tourism revenue. Tourism Director Diane Wieland says the county is second only to Atlantic County, who has the casino industry, regarding generating tourism dollars. The overall increase came in at 3.6 percent versus year-over-year growth. Wieland says the county is optimistic this year will be a good one for the shore communities based upon increased web interest in Cape May County and interest at travel shows.
