TOP LAWMAKERS DISAGREE ON PENSIONS AND TRANSPORTATION FUNDING

The top four lawmakers representing both parties agreed to disagree on Thursday. They spoke at the League of Municipalities. Both sides agree decisions need to be made on the Transportation Trust Fund and pensions, but it is unclear what decisions will be made. It appears an increase to the gas tax will take place on transportation funding, but how much is unclear. Republicans say they want cuts to other taxes if it happens. Meanwhile, the unfunded liability for pensions continues to grow, but both sides disagree on how to fix that as well.
