TOLL HIKES COMING TO PARKWAY AT START OF YEAR

The toll increases are coming. As discussed during the legislative debates on Coastal Broadcasting System’s radio stations this year, tolls on the Garden State Parkway are increasing to $1.50 at the beginning of the year. Earlier in the year, Gov. Chris Christie refused a plan launched by Democrats to roll back the toll hike. The most recent increase was put in place to pay for the now cancelled ARC Tunnel projects. Democrats said the money should not be used for other transportation projects, since the increase was put in to pay off the previously cancelled project.
