A proposal could be enacted this spring to make the toll collectors on the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway apart of a private entity. A rally was held in Woodbridge on Tuesday to protest this move. A task force made the recommendation to the governor. It was estimated the state could save between $35 million and $42.5 million. The union contract ends this summer.
