Galloway Township Police ordered the evacuation of the Smithville Square Shopping Center on Tuesday afternoon after reports of a ticking sound coming from a trash can at 1:12p.m. The Atlantic City Bomb Squad was called to investigate and determined the ticking object was not an explosive. Everyone was permitted to return to the shopping center after a delay of about two hours.
