The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is investigating the washup of thousands of dead fish on Delaware Bay beaches in Middle Township. The beaches on the bay side are filled with bunker fish who came ashore onto the small beaches. Experts have told the Press of Atlantic City that the fish may have died as a result of low dissolved oxygen levels in the water caused by the very hot temperatures this summer. The dead fish stretch from Kimble’s beach in Middle Township to North Cape May.
