Cape May County Freeholder Director Gerald Thornton won’t be soon forgotten. The Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders passed a resolution at their meeting on August 27, 2013 naming the roadway in the Crest Haven Complex from Crest Haven Road to the ambulance and employee entrances to the Crest Haven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and to the County Administration Building and the County Health Department Building as “Gerald M. Thornton Way.” The Board unanimously agreed that the road should be named for the Director of the Board to honor his more than 28 years of dedicated service to the people of Cape May County.
