Two teenagers have been arrested in Delaware after an alleged crime spree in Northfield, where police say they were in a stolen vehicle, fled a head-on vehicle crash that left a motorist seriously injured, carjacked a Porsche and attempted to break into a nearby home. Northfield Police responded to the crash at Shore Road and Mimi Court Saturday morning at approximately 8:45. The motorist who was struck sustained serious injury and was rushed to a local hospital. Police discovered the other vehicle, which was reported stolen from Smyrna, Delaware, abandoned by Wabash Avenue. Shortly after, a report of an armed invasion in progress on Wabash. An officer responded and spotted a Porsche leaving the premises. The officer pursued the vehicle, but abandoned chase when it became too dangerous. The two individuals had stolen the car at gunpoint. Police tracking the vehicle found it near Wilmington Delaware, where Delaware troopers witnessed the pair fleeing the vehicle but they were apprehended. Delaware authorities say the suspects are from Wilmington and charged the 15-year olds with receiving stolen property and resisting arrest in Delaware. The teens also face a slew of felony charges in New Jersey – robbery, burglary with attempted bodily injury, assault by auto, leaving the scene of an accident with serious bodily injury, motor vehicle theft and multiple firearm possession and conspiracy charges for their alleged actions in Atlantic County. The two were lodged in a Delaware detention center, Atlantic County plans to extradite the minors to face their charges in New Jersey.
