TEEN ARRESTED NEAR OAKCREST HIGH SCHOOL WITH BACKPACK FULL OF DRUGS AND A GUN

An 18 year-old Mays Landing man was arrested on Saturday near Oakcrest High School after trying to outrun police and charged with drugs and weapons violations. Hamilton Township Police responded to the Oak Crest Estates at Cologne Avenue for a report of a man whipping another person with a belt. Police attempted to arrest Jordain Stewart, who fled and allegedly threw away a backpack, which was later found and contained a loaded Magnum pistol , 168 grams of marijuana and pills. Stewart was placed in the Atlantic County on $50,000 bail.
