TD Bank’s coin-counting machines need some serious re-calibrations. The bank has taken all of it’s “Penny Arcade” coin-counting machines out of service, after two television news reports found they were not giving customers the proper change totals. 6-ABC News and NBC’s “Today Show” both found that many of the machines were short changing customers, by as much as 20 percent. “Today” also tested Coinstar machines in local grocery stores and found that every machine counted the coins properly. Coinstar customers must pay a counting fee of 10.9 percent for the service.
