TAXES GOING UP IN UPPER TOWNSHIP THIS YEAR

Upper Township residents may be asked to absorb a tax hike this year.  The Township Committee met earlier this week and discussed a potential three cent increase in the local tax rate.  Upper Township didn’t even have a local purpose tax for a half century until three years ago.  Upper Township needs the revenue for health insurance costs and lost revenue from tax appeals.
