TAX RATE IN OCEAN CITY TO EDGE UP SLIGHTLY IN ’14

Ocean City residents will be asked to pay a little more in taxes in 2014.  Mayor Jay Gillian presented his budget to Council last week and it calls for an increase in the tax rate of 1.5 cents.  Two budget workshops are planned this week in Ocean City where the proposed budget will be reviewed before it gets approvals by City Council.  Nearly $45 million will be raised via taxation in Gillian’s proposed budget.
