TAX INCREASE PROPOSED IN OCEAN CITY’S NEW BUDGET

A significant tax hike may be coming to Ocean City.  Mayor Jay Gillian presented a new budget Thursday night that includes a 2.9 cent increase in the local tax rate.  Gillian says the tax increase will finance a major, $112 million capital improvement plan that will be spread out over the next five years.  A closer look at the budget will be presented at the March 9th Council meeting.
