The Chicago Cubs have optioned outfield Matt Szczur back to the minor leagues. He was 2 for 10 in his only at bats this season and was sent back to the minors in favor of a bullpen pitcher. Many around the organization believe that Szczur will get another shot with the team down the road, but didn’t fit into their current plans at the time.
