The Chicago Cubs have not included Matt Szczur on the World Series playoff roster, but the Lower Township native is still very much a part of the team. Anthony Rizzo used Szczur’s bat to break out of a slump in the NL Championship Series and says he will continue to use it throughout the post-season. Szczur ended the regular season with a .259 batting average, five home runs and 12 pinch hits. Szczur also a two-run double in the ninth inning to win the season finale for the Cubs.
