Republicans who once voted for a bill, now won’t touch it. Senate President Steve Sweeney ripped into his Republican counterparts for sticking with the governor and not supporting the Sandy Bill of Rights. The GOP widely supported the measure initially sponsored by Sweeney, but after Gov. Chris Christie vetoed the bill, Republicans say they won’t vote for a veto override. Last week, the Senate President sent a letter to each Republican member of the Senate asking for them to respond by today in show of support of an override. In response, the Minority Leader wrote back to inform Senate President Sweeney that the Republicans would not support the override.
