The state of emergency declared by Acting Governor Steve Sweeney is no more. Sweeney last night rescinded the state of emergency, which means New Jersey residents can freely drive where they want to. Sweeney says the storm hit the Garden State much worse than anticipated, and he thanked the New Jersey State Police and the Office of Emergency Management for their work. Sweeney also thanked state residents, saying their lives have been turned upside down for the past two days. More than 30 inches of snow fell in a few North Jersey communities during the weekend storm.
