Senate President Steve Sweeney says he has a plan to force towns to consolidate, push the property tax cap to zero. Sweeney told the Times of Trenton that he wants to push for the zero tax cap for several years in an attempt to force towns to share service or merge with other towns. Sweeney did not that he didn’t talk with Gov. Chris Christie or the Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto about the plan as of yet.
