Senate President Steve Sweeney is not hopeful that a deal can be reached in Trenton to restore funding for important transportation projects. Governor Christie shut down all projects funded by the Transportation Trust Fund after the legislature refused to implement at 23-cent increase in the gasoline tax. Sweeney says that he will try to reach a new agreement. Some workers who were associated with these projects were laid off over the weekend.
