The highest ranking member of the state senate made his case again for making the minimum wage debate a ballot question issue. Senate President Steve Sweeney wrote a guest column for the Star-Ledger, defending his viewpoint that any decision on raising the minimum wage should be a constitutional one. Gov. Chris Christie noted previously that Sweeney is trying to circumvent the system of government, which has Christie sign bills sent to him from the legislature.
