The highest ranking Democrat in the state continued his stand on the minimum wage issue. Senate President Steve Sweeney said during a Senate hearing on Monday that there is too much politics in the minimum wage debate and it should be in the hands of the voters. Sweeney sponsored legislation that would put the question on the ballot next year. Gov. Chris Christie has said that he is willing to hear a bill regarding the minimum wage issue, but believes it should be handled through the normal process of him getting to sign it into law.
