SUSPICIOUS DEATH VICTIM IN BRIDGETON IDENTIFIED

Detectives from the Bridgeton Police Department and the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office investigating the suspicious death of a man who was found on a porch bleeding in the 100-block of N. Pearl St. late Sunday night have identified the victim as Abdon Garcia-Cruz, a 39-year-old homeless man. The death is still being investigated as a homicide. According to police, officers were called to the area by employees at the Sandwich Construction convenience store on the southwest corner of N. Pearl St. and Irving Ave. at approximately 11:30 PM Sunday after they were alerted that a man was lying on the sidewalk north of the business bleeding. An investigation is on-going.
