A new survey released this morning shows that New Jersey is the fourth most expensive state to live in terms of housing. Out of Reach 2011 commissioned a new report that shows the fair market value for a two bedroom rental in New Jersey is $1,296. A minimum wage worker would have to hold down three and a half full time jobs just in order to afford that apartment. The report also shows that the average renter in New Jersey makes $15.82 an hour, well below what’s needed to afford the rental.
