SURFER FOUND DEAD OFF MONMOUTH COUNTY BEACH

Tragedy struck in the surf on Wednesday as a fisherman found the body of a surfer floating in the ocean off Deal. The Star-Ledger reports that the body of an unidentified male was discovered floating near a rocky jetty off a Monmouth County beach with a six-foot surfboard tethered to his ankle. An autopsy will be performed Thursday on the man, who could be in his late 30’s or early 40’s.
