A new report says that the state’s highest court will hear an appeal on the job status of Wildwood Mayor Gary DeMarzo. The state Supreme Court has agreed to hear the appeal over the conflict of interest case with DeMarzo being a police officer and commissioner, according to a report by the Press of Atlantic City. The issue stems back from when Ernie Troiano and William Davenport were in office with DeMarzo. An appellate court said that DeMarzo had to choose to be one or the other, but couldn’t be on leave from one job while holding the other position.
