A major supermarket chain is filing for Chapter 11. A&P has filed in order to help the company restructure its debt. A&P operates a number of supermarket chains, including A&P, Pathmark, SuperFresh and Food Basics. There are 129 stores in the state. A number of stores under the Pathmark label were closed back in October out of North Jersey to help the company try to get financially sound.
