STUDY SHOWS OVER 200 STATE BRIDGES ARE STRUCTURALLY DEFICIENT

A group has done a study on the bridges in the state. Just over 200 bridges in the state were found to be structurally deficient by the Tri-State Transportation Campaign. Locally, the Route 52 over Beach Thorofare in Ocean City, the Garden State Parkway Bridge, and the Route 52 bridge over Ship Channel in Ocean City were all graded this way. The Parkway Bridge was rated poorly in the superstructure. Repair work is expected on that bridge within the next few years.
