The “Stronger than the Storm” tourism promotion campaign last year was too little, and much too late to make a huge impact on tourism at the Jersey Shore last summer. Tourism experts testified in Trenton on Thursday that the state’s efforts to get the word out that the beaches were open after Hurricane Sandy happened well after people already made their travel plans for the summer. Experts told lawmakers that the word has to get out in January and February as people begin to make their vacation plans for 2014.
