A man who used to spray paint art and sell it on the Ocean City boardwalk is suing the city for an alleged violation of his First Amendment rights. The Associated Press reports that Mark Chase used to perform daily on the boardwalk by spray painting art and then selling it. However, the Ocean City Council recently banned activities like this due to crowds that would be drawn and potential fire safety hazards. The solicitor for Ocean City, Guy Ayres, does not believe that Chase’s rights were violated.
