Citizens of Strathmere will continue their quest to de-annex from Upper Township in court next week. The Upper Township Gazette reports that Citizens for Strathmere and Whale Beach have appealed a decision in October 2010 that denied their suit to leave Upper Township. They will argue the case next Wednesday in NJ Superior Court. According to the report, Strathmere represents 17.5 percent of Upper’s tax ratable base, although it makes up only about one percent of the total land mass. The group wants Strathmere to become part of Sea Isle City.
