A dredging project in Stone Harbor could start as early as the Fall, 2015. The undertaking will incorporate approximately 185,000 cubic yard of dredging within the 9 lagoons that abut the Intracoastal Waterway. The project is currently underway applying for permits with the Department of Environmental Protection. Stone Harbor has retained marine and coastal engineering firm, Ocean and Coastal Consultants (OCC) for dredging and dredged material management engineering services. The dredging is planned to commence Fall 2015 with an estimated duration of 2-3 years due to environmental restrictions and volume of dredged materials.
