On Tuesday, Stone Harbor City Council adopted a $14.6 million operating budget for 2015. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the tax rate will increase by less than one cent, while rate increases for utility services will increase significantly. Local charges for utilities, plus sewer and water rates, will each increase by $15 per quarter. The report says Stone Harbor has the fourth-lowest tax rate in Cape May County. The increase means the owner of a $1 million home will pay $70 more in local-purpose taxes this year.
