STOCKTON OFFERED TO PURCHASE ATLANTIC CLUB BEFORE SHOWBOAT

According to emails obtained by the Press of Atlantic City, Stockton University offered $23 million to buy the former Atlantic Club, before their purchase of the Showboat for $18 million. Among the hundreds of pages of emails from the Stockton administrative staff was a spreadsheet comparing the two casino properties and purchase offers. The numbers showed that Showboat had proportionally more acreage, hotel rooms, square footage and parking spaces than the Atlantic Club, thus making it a more attractive purchase.
