HOMICIDES IN ATLANTIC CITY DOWN ACCORDING TO STATISTICS

According to crime statistics, the homicide rate in Atlantic City is down significantly from the near-record rate in 2012. According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s office, homicides are down across the county, and 75 percent below last year’s rate in Atlantic City. The resort has reported only three murders so far this year, compared to 13 last year. Pleasantville has reported no homicides so far in 2013. Officials point to new programs like the shot spotter and two large gang busts as reasons for the decline.
