STATE UNVEILS NEW REGULATIONS REGARDING BEACH ACCESS

Local beach towns must tell the state of New Jersey how they will provide public access to their beaches.  The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection unveiled its new regulations Monday designed to bring greater access to state beaches.  Local beach communities now must tell the state how they will provide public access to beaches and bays for various recreational activities.  If a town fails to comply, it can be penalized.  During the Jon Corzine administration, Avalon successfully sued the state over its one size fits all approach to beach access.
