STATE TO DISCONTINUE TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS IN HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS

The annual Tournament of Champions in high school sports will not continue after this school year.  The New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association voted today to eliminate the tournament, which had various sports championships from groups to play each other for an overall state title.  This will extend some sports seasons by a week, including basketball, giving athletes additional opportunities to play statewide.
