You don’t see this everyday: A popular New Jersey state senator will run for an assembly seat in the fall. The Star Ledger reports that republican State Senator Sean Kean plans on running for an assembly seat in the fall election. The state’s new legislative map would have pitted Kean against another republican senator, Robert Singer, also a republican. Instead of staging a party fight, Kean decided to run for the assembly instead, which is seen as a step down from a senate seat. Ocean County republicans are expected to discuss the issue on Wednesday.
